Default Interior light switches

[align=left]I am looking for a source to buy new switches for my dome lights. There a two push on/off type that have worn themselves out. Also a place to get a replacement for the intrument cover. Some of the ears are broken off and allowing dust to get inside. I have a 2001, 1500 Ram

Default RE: Interior light switches

By worn out do you mean that you push them and they seem way too easy to push (really loosein the console) and don't click and light upanymore? I had the exact same thing happen 3 years ago. Buying a new console won't help because those lights are the worst design on the truck IMHO, and will break again in no time.

Take out the overhead consoleand looking downon the console circuitryjust above the lights you'll notice 2 little white square plastic tabs (there pobably sticking out at you because they are broken. These little buggers are the only thing holding the spring and latch in place (mine popped off and the springs fell out the first time I took off the console, so be careful.)the "clicking mechanism" is nothing more than the same design used on a click retractable pen. Just superglue the white squares back onto their base (make sure you have the springs and all the parts in the correct order, use a pen as a referenceif you need to) and push down on them until the glue sets in about 30 seconds. You now have a strongerlight fixturethan was orginally manufactured.
