Default Gearing question

My 01 ram currently has 3.55 gears in it.

I want to upgrade to 3.92 at minimum and 4.11 preferably.

Here is my question: I know that I need a thicker gear in the Dana front end to make the 4.11 work with the 3.55 carrier. Is there a similar concern when swapping to a 3.92? Just want to be sure I've the right pieces before ripping everything apart.

Thanks.

I am researching the same truck, same gears... I recall the carrior change is required around 3.73. I think I read about it on Yukon Gears or one of their distributor's sites.

Default RE: Gearing question

yes anything over 3.73 in the dana 44 requires a diffrent carrieor OR the 4.11 thick ring (orignally used in jeeps) you have the 9.25 rear end too right, if do i dont think 3.92 is a common ratio for it (more difficult to find) and i dont think the thick ring comes in 3.92 ither, also make sure you get thr right cut of gear in the front (standerd or revirce rotation) they used both on th front end
standerd pinion enters diff below center line of pumpkin
revirce pinion enters abobe center ling of puimpkin
