Will 3rd gen 8-lug rims fit a 2nd gen?

Will stock 8-lug 17 inch rims off a 2006 Ram2500 fit a 2001 Ram 2500?

i think i have heard yes, but the lug hole diametersare different so you need the lugs from a 3rd gen so the lugs dont go through. Someone correct me if im wrong.

Yes, Ford is the only one I know that uses a wierd metric bolt pattern.
