Definity Dakota TIRES
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the Definity Dakota HT tires that PepBoys sells ? It's a nice looking tire but I have no idea if they are any good. I'm getting ready to buy new tires (no off road) and am really considering the Hankook DynaPro RH03. They seem to get really good reviews and I can actually buy them very inexpensively ($335.00) from Discount Tire Direct on-line with free shipping. I use 265/70/16 tires. I only do city / highway driving. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You'll get both pro and con about Pep Boys, but I have the mud tread Dakota and they work quite well. A bit noisier than an all terrain but they have excellent off road traction and take airing down well.
Most Pep Boys tires are made by either Cooper or Continantal, and I'd guess by checking out the Cooper site its a Cooper tire.

I just bought a set. 265/75/16 It will be my second set of tires from Pepboys. I was told these were made by Cooper. So far, they are great, but I have only had them a few days now.
If you can buy them before Pepboys closes this Saturday(8-18-07), they are buy 3,. get 1 free.

I used to be a manager at pepboys, and all I have to say on the subject is, go spend your money better elsewere. The only good pepboys serves is to sell you #1 Royal Purple Oil, #2 wiper blades, and #3 thats about it.
Definity tires are made by cooper.
Try the Michelin Cross Terrain tires, they are very well suited for the kind of driving you do. I believe they are 145 a piece. Check out Tirerack.com for a good mesure of thumb for your tire needs.
