Default Anthing I should know?

Hey, guys... As I mentioned in the new members area, I recently traded trucks and got the '01 1500 SLT Laredo. My question to all of you is: Is there anything about the truck that I need to know?

-Is anything prone to tearing up at a certain mileage?
-Is there any certain type of oil preferred?
-Any general problems to look out for?

Those types of things... This is my first Dodge truck, and the only other Dodge I've ever owned was a 2003 SRT-4. I just want to know things that you guys already know from years of experience. I am pretty mechanically-able, so you can be technical with the info. The truck did not have an owner's manual in it, so I got screwed on that. I guess I'll just buy a Haynes. Here's the specs on the truck:

2001 SLT Laredo Quad Cab 4x4
Auto w/ OD
Stock Everything
5.9L Magnum V8
Approx. 83K miles

Tim

Near-Future Mods: CD Player (the stock one won't play burnt CDs), exhaust, new tires(possibly wheels, too, depending on the wife)

Welcome.

Here's a link to a downloadable service manual.

"Dodge Ram FAQ" and "SEC. GEN RAM INFORMATION" threads tagged to the top of main 2nd gen page have lots of good info/reading.

Awesome guys, thanks. I think the manual may help, 360Sport01. I just don't like not even knowing how much oil it holds or anything about the technical specs of the motor.
