What's the right winter tire and size for me???
I have a 3" lift right now, do you think the 285/70/17's tires will look stupid on the truck during the winter though. That's the only reason why I've dreaded going smaller for the winter is because im so used to the big 35" tires and how proportional they look. The tires will be just for the winter though early fall before i go back to my mud tires, but do you think the 285/70's will look ok, or will they be noticably smaller then the 35's?
Got any pics of your 3" lift with 35's? Most pics of 35's I see are on 5" or more. I may have to run my 35's with my 3" lift until I get time to do the rest of the lift (going up to 6"). Just curious how that might look.

goodyear silent armor
nooooooooooooooooo!
i had them, they are completly CRAP they lasted about 3 months in spring with normal use the rubber quality is CRAP.
dont besold on goodyear silent armor
p.s. on the highway they moan and whistle, so silent armor is also not true.

To Silverdodge: Well from the looks of your truck, the tires don't look bad at all. But I am confused though, I dont know for sure what my lift is. My truck is the off-road edition with the 17" rims, but it easily fits the 35" tires. You seem to have the 17" rims I have though, did you buy those seperately? The tires didn't look bad at all on your truck though, I could live with that duirng the winter, no question. But I'm still confused on picking a tire though. I want just a winter tire, because I have the 35" mud tires to use for the spring-fall. I want a winter tire that is great on ice and snow that can go into a 285/70/17, do you know of any tire like this? By the way, I admire how you keep your truck clean and mean, I love that, I hate all that other goofy grill guards and crap, looks good!
Ya, I bought those rims seperate. I just always liked how they looked, so I put them on my truck.
Thanks for the comments. I would still recommend the BFG AT for you.

I'll second the recomendation for the Winterforce tires at Tirerack. I'm getting a set for my 2wd 1500 for this winter. I've run them on my Olds for the last 2 years and never had a snow tire work as good as these have. I'm up in northern Minnesota, we do get some snow.
