Like I mentioned in a couple other threads I'm looking at making a homemade CAI. I wanna go about it different then most of the home made ones on here. I have a 01 Ram so I have the square air intake box. I have read on here that you need the older style roundair hat. What I need to know is what size is the biggest opening on the older style you can get. I mean the opening of the round part that goes to the filter. My dad has a 98 Dakota with the round hat but the opening only looks to be a few inches. I'm hoping theRams are bigger. Also does the round one have all the vac line hook ups on it like the stocker does on my truck?

The plan is to use my ebay filter that came with my Mustangs CAI. I should be getting some new parts for the stang including a new CAI and K&N filter so I'll no longer need the old one.

 

2nd gen dak has the same size air hat.

2nd gen rams have the same as you have now...if you want i havea airhat from a dak.

 

so the rams and dak have the same size even for the bigger motors?
