Ok, I have looked at ton of old posts on 3rd gen tow mirrors on a 2nd gen truck. My conclusion from reading is that the mounting points are the same, but I might have a problem with wiring.

I have heated power AND heated mirrors on my '98 sport. So if I have wiring for both already, does anyone know if I will still have issues with puting 3rd gen tow mirrors on AND having the power and heating functions work??

 

If you know which wire is which from your pickup to your old mirror and buy a set of electric 3rd gen tow mirrors I wouldnt see why they wouldnt work. Only wires I ever known of are moving mirror up/down/left/right and heating. You push the tow mirrors out by hand so that isnt an issue.
