Hey everybody, I got a 2001 ram 5.2 a couple months ago. I have changed every fluid so far for preventative maintenance except for the diff. I changed the filter and fluid (six quarts drained out) in the trans about a month ago, cleaned the pan, and magnet. About a week ago I started felling the truck jerk at idle, almost like the converter is trying to catch and then release once it knows it cant move. Almost every time I stop now this same thing happens.

The other day I was driving home from work getting onto the highway onramp at 40mph and it jerked again, it felt like it tried to lock up, but then corrected itself immediately. that’s the only time it has ever done anything while driving.

If anyone has experienced the same thing or knows anything about this, please chime in, thank you

 

This may be a dumb question, but did you use ATF+4 or something else?

 

I used valvaline (sp?) +4.
