Default advice on fiberglass working tools?

I found my dremel finally so I started working on my scoop, cutting out the holes, and even with my grinding/cutting bit its moving at the pace of about an inch every 5 min. If you have any experience with fiberglass, what have you used in the past to help cut it? (also I want something thats good for cutting cast aluminum, so if it works for both, then +1)

Default RE: advice on fiberglass working tools?

rebuilding my boat i find that a aggressive cutoff wheel on a plug in right angle 4 1/2 grinder works really well.. aggressive meaning Walter Zips.. worked awesome... my jigsaw with an aggressive wood blade or metal blade worked well too...

i also found an attactchment for the dremel that looks exactly like a table saw blade.. it comes with a housing that angles it up for a more square cut.. it gets really hot.. but worked pretty good too..especially in fine/tight places

number one thing with cutting fiberglass is using breathing/eye protection... this is something you SERIOUSLY do not want to be breathing..

just take your time and go slow.. dont rush it or youll make mistakes... not that its not hard to fix fiberglass... just expensive..
