Default What Cold Air Intake Kit to Pick??

Alright guys I just made some money from selling my old rims and tires from my neon!, so I have some cash I can spend on the truck! I want to get a nice cold air intake kit for my truck, and obviously there are many options. I'm not looking to custom fab, I want to buy a brand name kit that comes with everything. I've narrowed it down to K&N, Volant, and AEM. What do you guys think I should go with, and are any of you fellow truckers running any of these cold air intakes?? If so, how does it sound and did it increase a noticable amount of horsepower for your truck! Let me know guys, your help is essential! I'd like to buy the kit tomorrow first thing, so the sooner the advice the better for me guys!! As of now, I'm leaning towards AEM and Volant, but let me know guys!

I ran the Volant and liked it alot- mainly from a quality standpoint. There was not really any performanceimprovement over the K&N setup even w/ the "scoop". The Volant is justdesigned alot better. However, if you're going to drop that kind of cash, the ram air box beats any cai hands down.

I was going to get one of those, but I would definetly definetly get mud or something in it.Perfect for a vehicle that never leaves the street though.

It's not as bad as you think. I don't do mud as a hobby, but I have been through it . If you think about the speed that you drive through it, that it's the wheels kicking up the mud, and where the ducts pick up air, then it's really not a problem. This assuming that you have no one in front of you. We just did two weeks on the outer banks of NC. I drove ~30miles of beach with no problems. I did find 4 or 5 smallbugs on the filter when we got home.

im going old school, circular. however if your mind is set i have read that you get about 11 to 12 horsepower over stock with k+n or AEM, not sure about Volant, but im sure theres a gain of at least 8hp, but dont take my word for it im not sure.
