wahoo shocks
I just bought new shocks. I got the monroe load adjusters for the rear and mornoe reflex for the front. So far I've installed the rear shocks. Holy Cow what a differnce. My rear end is a whole lot stiffer now. The cool thing is It lifted my truck a tad. I'm guessing about 1". Now I really need a leveling kit in the front.

There no way the shocks lifted the truck. Shocks hold absolutly no weight of the vehicle. For the truck to be raised they'd have to hold some weight.

They were a bitch to put on. I took the spare off and set it under the frame. Then I put the jack that came with the truck on the spare and jacked the frame up. I still needed about an inch to get the shock in. I put straps around the spring on the shock and tryed to compress the spring as much as I could. Then I pushed on the shock unti it went it. I found that If you compress the spring and then stick a wrench in the shock mount and use that to wedge it in. The next trick is getting the wrench out from underneath the shock.

I also coated all threads (front and back shocks) with anti-sieze. The lower right front bolt would not come out and I had to cut the shock. Turns out the bolt was frozen to the insert. I coated the length of the bolts as well.

Yep. I jacked up the truck and put the frame on the stands so the axle would hang. I used my largest flat-tipped screwdriver to pry those puppies in place. It was a deft feat of holding the bolt in the hole and quickly slipping it through when the end of the shock was in place.
I also coated all threads (front and back shocks) with anti-sieze. The lower right front bolt would not come out and I had to cut the shock. Turns out the bolt was frozen to the insert. I coated the length of the bolts as well.
