Hey all,

I absolutely love this site and don't want this to come off as bagging on anybody at all, but I don't understand why there are 2 different DIY stickies, and a Dodge Ram FAQ and SEC. GEN RAM INFO that both contain some related material, and then not others.

I get reallybackwards sometimes looking for stuff and was just curious if there was some sort of system that I'm justtoo slow topick up on yet.

 

the RAM FAQ had a bunch of info that was not necessary for the DIY thread and vice-versa... the DIY sticky was intended to make it easy for anyone looking for info on a repair or upgrade of sorts to be able to find it easily. I think the second gen ram info thread and the Ram FAQ could be combined...

So was the Ram 2nd gen Do it Yourself an antiquated version of what you've been working on lately with the DIY links? Sort of there for posterity?

 

I think that we need a FAQ sticky with links
People come on and ask questions that are already answered or they search and have to sift through threads and threads of the same thing where a lot of threads areunfinished.

Not trying to make anyone upset, but a little clean up would help the board.
The easier it is to use, the more people will tell others, the more that will come and the advertisers will love that.

 

How about a "before you ask a question, read the service manual and see if it doesn't give you what your looking for" sticky?

All air filter, filter assembly, and cai posts here.

i still catch myself sighning up for various forums (especially weapon forums) and not reading the stick and doing the newb style "please help now" post for my first ..

its something that will never end... ive just come to deal with it really.

 

Is that like "please help now I've just shot myself in the foot," or"could use some quickhelp fellas,just closed a bear trap on my foot." I wouldn't want those stickies condensed.

 

You're right. I suppose it's already covered in the 'search before you waste bandwidth' portion of the forum rules anyway; ergo, using extra bandwidth to try andalleviate the problem would constitute a waste of bandwidth in and of itself.
