Default RE: Performance Chip help

The Hypertech Max energy would be a good idea IF they ever update any of their timing tables. I doubt that updating our out of date 2nd Gen Ram tablesare on the high priority list.

CurrentlyHypertech's own Dyno charts showverysmallgains going from 87 octane to 93 octane, so I think they probably feel they've MAXed out (pardon the pun) the gains from their program onour engines. My advice as far as Hypertech is to find a Power Programmer 3 (same program as the Max energy, but can't upgrade online) as itcan be foundcheaper than the Max Energy.

Superchips is another option but their latest iteration the FlashPaq isn't even made for our vehicles, meaning that they've probably ceased all R&D on improvingour engine performance at all. Somewhere I read that the superchips can stop the torque converter fromrobbing power by catching while going from 3rd gear to OD, but I haven't seen a confirmation to this as of yet.

Fox Fader posted a problem earlier about going used as the programmer needs to be newer than the factory computer flash or the programmer might not work. Maybe he can chime in with more info.

Either one's probably as good as the other until you start modding a lot then you'll need something more "aggressive" like a B&G performance flash.
