Default 3/4 ton rear end in 1/2 ton truck

i want to put either a dana 60,70, or 80 in my truck, and a dana 60 in the front. now my question is do i have to move the spring perches on the 3/4 ton axle to match up to the spring centers or can i of set the kinda of? i dont know what the perch centers on a 1/2 or 3/4 ton are but i know that the 1/2 tons have 2.5" wide springs and the 3/4 tons have 3" wide springs, so im guessing that the centers on them are different, so i guess what im asking is can i use the 2.5" wide springs and blocks from my truck and put a 3/4 ton axle with the smaller springs? i know i would have to get different u-bolts and plates but would it work without having to cut and remount the perches on the axle? or putting the different perches on the frame from a 3/4 ton.

thanks

If youg et them from a Dodge they're more of less bolt right in. The spring perches will be a bit wider since 3/4 ton springs are 3" wide and 1/2 ton are 2.5". That won't relaly matter though.

If they are 8-lug axles, you better plan on buying new wheels too.

well thats the whole point of putting the 3/4 ton axles in my truck, so i can get the 8 lug wheels. lol so i justtake my axle out and bolt the other one in without cutting the 3 inch perches off of the 3/4 ton axle?

thanks

Thats right. Unless the perches are different widths on the 1/2 and 3/4 tons. If they are grind them off and weld them back on in the right spot.
