Default I made a mistake...I'm coming back

Hey guys, well if you read my signature at the bottom you'll see I "used" to have a '98 Ram, but I went outta my mind for awhile and sold it......yes, and before you jump all over me, I regreted it 1 week later. I went out and bought a '00 Mitsubishi Eclipse, just to have some fun for awhile, thinking ok whatever. Well, was I wrong. Nothing but problems since the day I bought it, and it still isn't fixed either. Thats right, over the course of a month, the same problem has reoccured. I've had enough. I'm selling it, and going back to a ram. Im only 18 years old and have only had 2 trucks and this car in my lifetime, but I now realize I'm a truck guy forever, and will NEVER BUY A FOREIGN CAR AGAIN!!! Mark my words on that. The reason I'm writing though, is that I'm gonna be taking a big hit by selling the car the way it is and with what I have saved since a month ago, I only have about 6 grand......for that amount, it looks as though any ram i get will have well over 100,000 miles, lookin to stay atleast under 150,000.....with mileage that high, anything specific I should look for? Do they tend to "go downhill" after 100,000 miles? My uncle has a '97 ram with 155,000 miles and no problems, and the one I sold had 97K on it went I sold it with just an A/C issue.......seems like they last, and I love them. Thanks guys

So whats wrong with the Eclipse?
Not that I need one, but have become very familiar with them in the last couple of months through my son. There is a mitsubishi forum identical to this one.

Ive actually posted the problem on that forum......no help at all, everything that was suggested was done by my mechanic, no one can figure it out.....ughh, its so annoying, these damn foreign cars no one can figure out.

Anyway, my problem is that its throwing code PO 302, cylinder 2 misfire, it sputters, and hesitates and basically runs like crap, and its STILL not fixed.

6 grand can net you something good if you're patient.

They wanted 7,500 for mine and I got them down to 6, with a 500 dollar trade in on my beat *** old '90 ford ranger that would in no way shape or form pass inspection.

at the time i bought it, it only had 95,000 miles on it, and it was in excellent condition other than some rust on the back bumper that I repaired my self for oh $40.

Not to hijack the thread, doing it anyway. This one had 9 codes and 17mpg. Couple for the missing EGR system, cylinder misfire on each one, Cam out of place, multiple missfire. Air fuel ratio meter was pegged lean so I pulled the plugs and were black. Relaced them and the O2 sensor.Noticed the coil had one terminal corroded almost green. Replaced it and at 28mpg. No more black streak in the driveway everytime it fires up. Still need to tinker with the adjustable cams to smooth out.

By the way, welcome back and hope you find a decent dodge. Don't settle, get what you can and enjoy.

Just bought a 2001 Quad 1500 5.2 liter Laramie SLT with 118k miles for $5500 about 2 months ago in South Florida. When I was looking I was only considering 2000's and newer and found quite a few from $4500 and up usually with anywhere from 100k miles and up.

about the going downhill over 100k...thats a negative there. I have almost 184k, and it pulls like it was new.
