i was thinking of taking my cats off but i want to know if there will be codes will it run like crap will i lose hp or what i have half duals with glass pack muffler the duals start after the cat what should i do its pretty loud now but sounds wiered i have 2 1/4 pipe i think with cannon tips

It probably won't run bad but if its newer than 06 you'll probably get O2 heater, O2 sensor, and converter efficiency codes at least. If you plum the rear O2 into the straight pipe you probably only get efficiency codes.

I personally like the sound of dual glass-packs after the cat.

If you have an O2 after the cat then you might get a code. But if not I dont think you will get codes. Just take them off or if you have smog laws gutt the out.

what i did on my 97 5.2 was remove the cat and take a 1 inch piece of rebarb pipe and rammed it through the cat to gut it. that way you can still use the bung for the 02 sensor and if you get pulled over and they look under the truck they will still see the cat, but not know that it has been gutted.
