I have a 1995 5.2 and i was wondering if on my truck the cps if i slotted it would that work or is my truck old enough taht i can just turn the distibutor to advance the timing?? i was wanting to work on it this afternoon so any help is appreciated. thanx

Turning the distributor will only cause you fuel sync problems and not advance the timing. What the mod will do is advance your timing. Leave your distributor where it is.

alright thanx. so i take out the bracket holding the cps and just take a file and file away? file to the edge? how far? and then i slide it towards the oil filter to adavance right?
