Default plugs and wires

Well Tomorrow (SEPT 16th) im going to pull the intake off and fix the leak and cut my runners down! Also right after i am going to change to synthetic oil also. just a few more questions. Im looking to replace my plugs and wires.I heard auto lite 3923 PLAT. are a good choice. Thats what ill prob get but im looking for a set of wires that can be found at autozone or advanced auto parts that are really good. Also about the intake manifold how far down do you cut the runners or can i just cut them completely down smoothed out with the manifold? Thnx again guyz.. u save my life~!

my opinion is to get the best/most expensive one's (within reason) that they have - likely a house brand with a lifetime warranty. you sort of get what you pay for.

Some actually say the Platinum ones are bad. I personally run 3923's copper core. I might however switch to champions and see if I see a difference. Personally I do not have ping problems, and... a smaller plug reduces compression, so when ping becomes a problem I may switch back. But I am gonna do some seafoam with this set and...change to champion I think.

Avoid Bosh Platinum plugs! They arejunk.
Truck plugs were probably the best and longest lasting for me (look cool too). Mine were in for 7 years and could have easily been cleaned up and put back in (still have them). The autolights were also pretty good. I just changed them out and went with stock champions for the 98+ engines. They are slightly longer and have a higher heat range. I'm more interested in economy that performance right now.

Well the gap on those bosch 4+ plats are .065 which is huge.Thespecified gapfor our trucks is .040, though the Bosch plugs are gapped purposely big.

A ran them for a while in my truck and they didn't hurt anything, the truck was maybe a little more sluggish, but barely noticeable. I've heard that if you go with a plug that has a longer tip, that it's a slight ingition advance which is slightly more performance and a shorter tip retards the timing slightly and can reduce pinging.
