95 Ram V10 sudden skip
So I come to a stop at the sign...having recently bought the truck I wanted to see what would happen if I floored it from a stop. It took off ok for a 3/4 ton behemouth but suddenly I could hear a faint spark knock and there seems to be a faint smell of electrical burning. Then the spark knock became a bad skip and the check engine light came on. Now I'm going down the road and it feels like it's running on 6 1/2 of my 10 cylinders. I manage to limp home and shut it off. I cheked under the hood, nothing obvious. I ran the on board diagnostic and get a code 43. According to my Haynes manual a 43 comes back as, "peak primary circuit current not achieved with maximum dwell time". I checked under the dash and found a remote start module under with the wiring harness unplugged. Not wanting any free roaming wiring I plugged it back in. After that I started it up and it runs just fine. Took it for a spin and still ok. Could the remote wiring harness have been shorting out casung a voltage problem in the primary?
