'01 brakes on a 96?
OK heres the deal. I bought a set of wheels off of a '01 dodge to put on my 96. Guess what? They won't fit on the front because the hub/grease cap that sticks out is too large and sticks out past the small opening where the beauty cap goes.
-heres the facts about my swap My truck is a 96 2wd 1500, the wheels came off a '01 4wd. The bolt pattern is the same.
I understand the brakes were changed in 2000 to a larger dia. and different design, hence the 17" wheels.
My question is will the knuckle-spindle and calipersfrom a 2000-01 bolt onto my 96 so I essentially have a '01 front end so I can run the wheels and have better brakes as well? I know it seems like a hassle to do all this but I was going to upgrade brakes anyway so it seems like a win-win.
Thanks for any help
