Default A little knock this morning

I startrd up my truck this morning and I herd a little knocking from the motor So when I got to work it let it cold down for a few hours and fired it back up I seen that the oil pressure takes about 3-5 seconds to pop up but then it good is this how your all trucks are or is mine geting ready to take a crap on me . O and the oil is full clean 10w40 with that engine restore in it . Do you think it may be cloging my pump up ?

rhaines, are you also seeing your light flicker after stopping at a light after some highway driving? I've got the same thing now but also with the light. I never had that knock/rattle at start up before. I thought it was oil level, brand, type, different filter brand but it's not any of that. I don't want to throw money at everything so I need to narrow it down but I think it's either the pump, the oil pressure sending sensor thingy and/or addition of an old cat that might be causing just a little too much backpressure and causing a slightly lower idle (but doesn't impact that rattle at startup). If you find out what it is, even though you're a 2000, please please let us/me know.

Mine does this also - just a little at start-up cold. Pretty slight butI still wonder. I have been experimenting with different oil filters with really no obvious difference. Not really too worried about it : my oil pressure gauge runs about 60 - 70 psi when cold and slightly above the 40 psi mark when idling after warmed up. The only thing I can think of (when I have time) is to remove the oil pan and make sure the pump screen is clean. And I will probably check the bearings while the pan is removed. If you arrive at any other solutions - please let us know.
