rear dif is leaking

It really isn't that bad, you need a pinion seal. As far as installation and removal goes it shouldn't be too hard, you have to take off that huge nut/bolt on the side of the pumpkin where the drive shaft bolts up to and get a seal puller and pull it out or you could pull it out with needle nose pliers too.

hope that just the seal is bad! in my case i had a leak from the seal but not becasue the seal was bad but my front pinion bearing was shredded and my pinion was floating off the ring causeing the pinion seal to break. all kinds of metal shavings in my diff caused pitting of the spider gears and ring gear. tranny shop wanted 1600 to fix it. i decided im just going to replace the whole rear end from a pick n pull for half this price
