Default Rear Brakes

Just a quick ?, I have noticed that some 2500's have disc rear brakes, others have the typical drum setup. I was wondering why? Was it a dealer option? or did the discs come standard one or two years or only on certain drivetrain packages?

I think they came on certain years, but they switched back to drums for some reason.

Rear disc on trucks tends to collect a lot of dirt and debris which end up affecting performance.
