do you trust the Haynes Manuel?
i have proved them wrong! they say that my truck is a light duty according to the vin# and because it doesn't have 2 cat. converters. however they say it is a heavy duty if it has 1 oxygen sensor per exhaust pipe(before y-pipe and cat.) and i pulled out my dealership write up and it says...
2001 MODEL YEAR
RAM 2500HD 4X4 SLT
word for word
guess they are not always right...

I looked at one of the Hayne's manuals (or maybe Chilton's) and the interior is about the strangest one that I've seen. I know that they made it with the old interior, but there still seems to be inconsistencies. I think it's sketchy. I still rely on the shop manual from this site...
I personally don't like the black-&-white photos with no orientation as to what I'm looking at in the book versus what I'm looking for and where on the truck. Am I looking down, up, from the side? Is the front of the engine block the top of the photo or what?[:@]
I'm novice so throw me a life line here and there and I'll be able to figure it out.

Haynes says to remove a couple of screws to remove the headlight assembly, when you actually have to lower the bumper. I never would have been able to remove them if it were not for the shop manual.
They need to be a little more model/year specific to eliminate the ever popular, "XX(year)shown, other models similar"!!! Guess that's the cheapest way to edit future volumes.
