front diff wont engage.
I did some checking this weekend in the front diff.I found water in my diff that enterd thru a bad gasket at the vacuum shift device mounting plate. Icleaned, inspected, resealed and refilled the diff.I tried moving the diaphram by hand and it was stuck. I worked it a bit and tested it for vacume leak. no vacuum leak and it got better. But still no 4x4. Any sugestions ????
Thank's in advance for any responses.

RE: front diff wont engage.
how do you know you have no 4wd ?
are you testing actual drive line or just the light ? light can be unreliable...
first check for right amount of vacuum at the right time at the cad.
then i like to put it up on 4 jack stands and watch for front drive shaft to engage. this tells you t-case is working.
then look for your front wheels to start turning, based on cad lockup.
if you've got 4wd but no light, check the elec connector. also try unplugging it, cleaning out the mud and sand, and spray out the connector with wd40.
here's the whole story...
