Here's my Edelbrock shorty headers part # 65642:
-silver ceramic coating
-1 5/8" primaries
-2.5" collector
-16 gauge steel
-3/8" thick flange
They are installed with:
-Mr. Gasket socket head header bolts, 5/16"-18 x 3/4" Gr.8, part # 3411
-Mopar Performance header gaskets at the head (compressed fiber I believe)
-Edelbrock lead/compressed fiber donut gaskets at the y-pipe joints, part # 6956

Here's the closest pic I got back before I put the new header bolts in and lots of other stuff. They were still shiney back then.

silver_dodge... how the heck do you get under your hood that clean? i think i could eat off your fan shroud... wow thats like new lol... but now back on topic... how do you like those headers? how hard were they to install? any noticeable gain other than sound?
Thanks, i'm kinda known for how clean my stuff is. It's my sickness.
The headers were ok in my opinion. Not the best mod I have done, but not the worst. Gave a noticable gain in the top end, no noticable difference anywhere else. I wish I had gone with 1-1/2" primaries instead. Not sure my 5.2 has the cubes to warrant 1-5/8". Install is easy for the most part, though there are a few bolts (namely on the driver side due to the odd shape of that header) that were a pain to reach. Of course, I didn't have any problems with the stock exhaust manifold studs. I've read the stories from guys who have twisted the studs off in the head because they were rusted so bad. That would definetly make install a pain. Also, my exhaust tone and volume did not change, only the underhood volume got louder.

thanks Silver,
did you do that job? when you took off the stock headers was it just headers or was there some sort of paper like thing aroung the top of them?
thanks
