Default Metal in the Diff. Part 2

Ok... I have the trac-loc out. The retainers on the driver's side were the ones that I found laying on the magnet in the bottom. The retainers that were on the passenger side are also broken but they stayed in the carrier and ended up grinding a groove in the passenger side bearing cap. The groove is about an 1/8 of an inch deep. My question is this; Should I just dress the bearing cap and remove the sharp edges or can I get another bearing cap? I am thinking that the bearing caps are machined to theaxle housing and that they are a matched set. In which case I guess I will just dress them and go.... Does anybody know for sure?.........

By bearing cap do you mean outer race?

I think he means the caps the holds the carrier in the housing.

Just clean it up it should be fine as long as it isn't cracked.
