Hey everyone, I'm looking at buying a 98 Ram 1500 from the dealership. Its got a very nice price, but the only problem is that when you turn the wheel all the way left, it makes a horrible loud grinding noise. It doesn't do it when you turn right and other than that it runs great. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
Sorry, it is 4x4. I told the dealer that it was making the noise. He said he'd have his mechanic look at it, but I just don't want to have them blow some smoke up my hiney hole if its something major. Its a 98 with 121k and they're only asking 4991 for it. So, it seems like a good deal, but like they say, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Thats why I'm here trying to get ideas on what it is.
Could be u-joints but if it's the hub assembly, cha ching right back to get it fixed. But, it could just be tire rub if it has after market tires or a bad alignment.
