i dont have any pix but i really put a whole new meaning to "if you cant dodge it, RAM IT".

i was turning left and there was water on the road and i hydroplaned going about 30mph, my truck wouldnt turn left or right so i said F*** it and i smashed my pedal in., i leveled the Traffic Light and the only damage that happened is i jacked up my bumper, so all i need fromLEVELING a Traffic Light is a $50 junk yard metal bumper.

these trucks are so durable, i LOVE IT!!!

A few years ago some chick took out a light pole along the main street of our small hometown with her brand new silverado HD, truck was totally FUBAR'd.Knockedthe lightright out of its concrete base and the rest ofit fell on the truck. Funny thing was in order to hit it she first had toplow over a hard 5fthighsnowdriftto hit the thing. Alcohol, Ice, and speeds of around 40 mph (speed limit is 25) were all factors.

**EDIT** and this summer some guy who was running from the Highway Patrol jumped a loading ramp for railroad cars with his CTD, really messed up the front end...woulda been kinda cool to watch though since they figured he was going about 70mph when he hit it.

 

that sucks. I once fell asleep at the wheel and broadsided a pole. took it down, lucky for me ins. took care of it

 

i dont have any pix of the traffic light cuz it was early in the morning when no one was around so i kinda just got out of there, FAST, i can take pix of my bumper but its off my truck now, soits just a dentthat a 5in round pole could fit in

 

Most poles are designed to shear at the base with significant force... keeps cars from getting opened up like a can. [:-]

I'm suprised your airbags didn't blow... Glad you're OK and got away with minimal damage.

hehe thats awesome, sometimes its better to hit the pole, one time i dodged a pole but the curb blew out my body mountsand the truck wouldnt shift into gear cuz i messed up the cable, thanks god i was only drivin my ford
