truck takes longer to shift

Default truck takes longer to shift
Its like 54 here when I go to work my trans dont shift in to 3rd right away it gose up to about 3000 rpms and then shifts hard . Should I have this checked out or are these truck cold natured like that after it warms up its fine

First pull the codes... Ifyour gettin a 0720 its the speed sensor. Have you changed the fluid/filter in the trans?
