Well, you're not really supposed to tow in OD, I'd suggest pushing the button on the end of you shifter arm to turn it off and see if that doesn't suit you better. Staying in 3rd will rev up your RPMs and you'll stay ina better usable powerband for towing.

TC lockup is when you just get past 3rd gear and forthe next5-10mph you feel like you've lost power and then it grabs almost like you've found another gear. If you turn off the OD and you've still got thesame problem you've been having, it ain't TC lockup. You can check theTPS byfollowing the procedure posted in a number of recent posts. It seems to be the mod of the week.

TPS mod was too easy, in case youare thinking about it.
Everything went exactly as the writeup described.
I thought dialing it in would be hard, but it only took me a couple minutes.

what voltage did you set yours at? i'm going to do this tomorrow afternoon, i'll probably experiment with a range of voltages though to see where i like it best.

i may also do the crank position sensor mod if i have time.

wrenchers have already experimented with this and found the .75 volts was the ideal setting. Let us know how your experimenting goes...

Doh, I set mine at .71 cause I thought it was supposed to be as close to .7 as possible. Its easy enough to fix though, no biggie.

maybe i'll leave it around .75 then...one of the writeups i read on the tps mod said up to 1.2v was considered "within spec" apparently it was incorrect.

I thought I read that you will get a fault on anything much more than the high 7's

although it may be within spec, performance wise the .7~.75 range provided the best response.

I did this mod by simply removing the brass sleeves, then drilling the holes with the next larger size drill bit. This allowed enough spacing to adjust the positioning of the sensor to where I wanted it, but still left enough material to use the original screws without any problems.
