Default Upper Ball Joints on 99 2WD

How do these come off. One person said they are bolt in style just got to get the rivets out, another person says they are just press in. What about the lower ones? If I am doing the uppers maybe I should do the lowers also.

Thanks

I don't know about a '99 but my 2001 2wd has both upper and lower ball joints riveted in. My understanding is that you grind or cut the rivet heads off and the new ball joints get bolted on. I THINK that only the 4wd are pressed in. My boots are broken on mine and soon I will replacing my joints. So - I will soon find out.
