Show off your lift!!!!!
I'm looking at getting a lift kitfor my truck with my tax return in the first of the year. She's running on 275/75's now. The only problem is I want to keep decent handling. I am thinking of a 3" because I think the 2" stresses the steering geometry by omitting some drop brackets to keep costs down. My dad says I won't really notice3" and I should go for the 5", but Iworry that she'll lean too much in the curves. So...I want all y'all in cyberspace to post pics of your truck and post what lift and what tires. Plus, if anyone has any comments, they will be appreciated...

a 3" lift wont stress the steering geomerty its when you go to a 5" then you gotta change a few things pitman arm , sway bar drop brackets, here is mine with 6" lift , 3" susp , 3" body with 35" tires, maybe this spring ill go up to a 5" susp...And if you are worried about it leaning to much in a curve maybe a lift is not for you ? you wont lean more like to roll it... OH ! , skyjacker lift with PA body lift..

Typically, the 3" lift is no differnet the then 2" lift as far as drop brackets go. Most 3" lifts are just longer coil springs, and blocks or AAL's in the rear. Some include control arms, but rarely do you see a 3" lift with a drop pitman or any other drop brackets. I have the Skyjacker 3", and you can see pics in my sig if your interested.
If your debating between a 2" and a 3", definetly get the 3" in my opinion. As for the 5", I guess that depends on what you looking for out of a lift. Just appearance? Will you wheel it? These things make a difference as to what size you go, and how you go about it (body versus suspension, or combo). A 5" lift is going to be more expensive then a 3" lift. With 2" or 3", you can fit 33's, and maybe even 34's. With 5", you can fit 35's. Once your tires get that big, you need to start considering gears and other elements that you could get by without with the smaller lifts.

RE: Show off your lift!!!!!
Wow nice trucks! What I'm looking for is a decent all-around truck. I drive mine every day, so I need a truck that's sensible, yet I can have some fun with on the weekend. Therefore, I think a 3" will be the way to go for me. What's a good brand of lift? Also, what width a tire can I run?

RE: Show off your lift!!!!!
A 3" lift will drive just fine. Before I lifted mine it would sway from side to side too much for me. Whimpy factory shocks...The lift allowed for 33 X 12.5 tires without rubbing and looked good. Of course I couldn't stop at that and added a 3" body lift and went to 35" tires after the 33's worn down. Now that the 35's are worn down, the 3" lift is off and a 6" lift is going on with 37 X 13 tires.... It's habit forming......

i have offset rims that make the truck VERY road friendly and doesnt lean very bad on on-ramps and whatnot
handles excellent
i have 4.56s Ring and pinion but i will soon be moving up to 4.88s
38 inch tires
12" wide rims
