Anyone know why there is so much variation in the fuel guage esp. as below a half tank; when I floor it my guage drops (a 1/4), take it out of gear and it climbs up, it does not have this much effect on hills, so why when accelerating? Any ideas?

 

Mine fluctuates the same way.
Probably because the tank is rectangular. Long, narrow, and deep.
