Body lift with reciever hitch, does it look funny?
One suggestion I got on another forum about this same topic was that you could mount some backup or auxillary lights on top of the hitch in that little gap. It tucks them up out of harms way, and helps to fill in that gap some. I though that was a pretty good idea, and may do that myself. I bet if you were creative too, you could mount a hi-lift there instead, which would be really cool I think.
Also, there is apparently a company that makes hitches for 3" body lifts. They have one for our trucks, and it runs $230

Lastly, a guy posted about how he just cut out about 2" or 3" from the side of the mounting brackets on the hitch, and then welded it back together so that it would sit up higher. Here is the pic he posted of how he did that on his.

Yeah, that is a good idea about puttin some kind of accessory in the gap. I may have to think of something. I kinda like that idea better than buying a new hitch or cutting into it.
When you get that BL on let me know how easy/hard it is to do. I did it once on a Toyota P/U and it was a cakewalk. But I have a feeling it might be tougher on the Ram. Ihave it in my head thatthere will be more things that you have to extend and all that.

Will do. It's going to be my weekend project, and i'm going to work on it as time permits, so i'll post up something on it by Monday (should be done by then I hope).
Ok, here's how mine turned out. I definetly need to do something above it, or get a new style hitch that is more flat across the top. But, doesn't look as bad as I thought it would.
