4x4
Ok, I know I've asked about this before, but I just want ask in a better way.
If I am NOT moving, and I want to put it into 4L or 4H, should my transmission be put into Neutral or Park?? I've found that when I try to put it into 4x4 will grind if the transmission isn't in the right setting.. I'm just confused, I bought this truck used and it didn't come with a 4x4 manual, so maybe you guys can help me out.

Cool, I tried doing that today when in neutral and when I put it into 4L, it started grinding, so I put it into park first, and then I slapped it into 4L. I definately think my differentials need oil changes, and the bar that connects the front differential to the t-shifter definately needs to be retightened. The other day it completely fell off and was hanging underneath the truck lol!
Hmm...It was very difficult changing it IN and OUT of 4L,N,2H, and 4H. There was some grinding going on here and there, and sometimes I couldn't get it into 4H or 4L. My truck is going to the shop Monday for an allignment though, so maybe I'll have them take a look at the front differential while it is in there. The other day I tried to get an allignment, and the people said they couldn't do it because I needed to have a tire rod, a drag link, and a track bar replaced before they would even do it, which pissed me off, because they want $950!!! So, I'm having VIP take a look at it, and see if they can get me better prices than the dealer...
