Default instrument cluster

hey guys just a quick question i have a 94 and i am lookin to put in an instrument cluster that has a tach in it so my question iswill the cluster from like a 98-01 fit in or not ? thanks for your help i know that the clusters from 94 - 97 will fit so and to the best of my knowledge it is just a plug on the back.

i don't know - but will guess that it won't. 94-95(?) is OBD-1 and 96(?)-up is OBD-2.
if you've got one you could try it. it probably wouldn't explode or anything , likely it would either work or not. wait for an answer from someone smarter than me.

edit. oh yeah, i just thought of another reason the 98-up probably won't work. they have digital odometer and integrated MIL code display and the older ones have an analog odometer.

No the 98+ won't fit or work without serious mods

Try finding an aftermarket Tach.There are lots of mounting options out there. You can mount on top of the steering wheel housing, the top of the dash,and they also make a nice clean lookingaftermarket driver's side pillar that can hold3 gauges right near eye level.
