Default Can't get the spindle back on!!!

I'm changing the upper/lower ball joints on our 2000 Ram 1500 4x4. I got what I thought would be the hard part done ( ball joints pressed in and out ) and am trying to get the spindle to go back on. I started the spindle on the ball joints, then got the jack underneath and put the weight of the truck on the spindle. I got the upper ball joint threads to come through and tried to tighten the nut to seat it the rest of the way, but it won't go for some reason. I tightened it enough that the ball joint shaft is spinning on me. The lower ball joint doesnt have any threads coming through the lower hole. Can't figure out where I'm hung up at. Any good suggestions? Thanks!

Got a pic?
I hope you didn't press the upper ball joint in from the bottom (I've seen it)
Typically i tighten the lower nut first then the upper

No, I pressed the top one in from the top and the bottom one from the bottom. It's hung up, and if I could get the upper nut off I would take the spindle off and try to get it lined up better, then try it again. I just can't get the top ball joint to grab enough to get the nut loose.
