Has anyone tried removing just the headlight lense cover ?

My headlight lenses are discolored. Is it possible to just remove the plastic lense cover to clean them ? Or, does one have to replace the entire headlight assembly if they want maximum brightness ? How much do new headlight assemblies cost and where is the best place to get them cheaper ? Thanks, Dave

They're all one sealed unit. Gotta replace the whole thing. I used to work in the factory that made the tail lights, and some of the headlights. Pretty cool how they weld the plastic pieces together.

Like Snafu said, they're a sealed unit, so you can't take them apart. You could try a polishing compound on them. I think Eastwood make one specifically for headlights. If you just want to replace them, try E-bay. I got a killer deal on a set of new headlights for my Ram on there.

i know that with my headlights...if you put them in an oven, it makes the seal between the front and rear sections soften...not sure if it works on the rams..
