Default Its raining and there's transmission fluid everywhere

I was just driving my ram and got it half a mile from home when i stoped in order to look at something i had droped, when i pressed on the gas nothing happened, i put it in 1st gear, 2nd gear, reverse, and drive and it doesnt move at all just the engine revs. Also theres transmission fluid all over the right side of my engine compartment and splatered everywhere whith a couple quarts all on the road. It looks like it came from above the oil pan because its drenched in fluid but it is deffinitly not coming from the transmission pan. There is no way I can go look at it any more right now because its dark, 50 degrees, and pouring down rain so any suggestions on what to look at when the rain stops would be much apreciated, I'm guesing something happened where the transmission and engine meet together but ive never had a transmission totaly blow before so if you think thats what it is..... Thanks for the help

Almost sounds like a cooler puncture or cooler line puncture/tear off etc.

In order to get tranny fluid in the engine compartment in large quantities while driving it usually has to come from the front--the wind from driving will make it more likely to drip and fly back.

That would be my guess, Blown cooler line.
The rubber hose sometime blows out of the crimped on connector.
You can cut off the crimps and replace the hose and use a std hose clamp. The factory cooler lines are expensive and not the greatest quality.

has to be a blown cooler line... you might take this time to upgrade the cooler while your fixing it. get the biggest that you can IMO...

cool thanks that sounds a lot better than having to buy a new transmission, i just got home so I'll go check it out now. I don't think I'll upgrade the cooler though because I'm going to try and sell the truck soon, 190,000 miles is getting kind of high...
