Need Help with problem...parking brake or transmission?
So I got in one of my trucks last night:
1996 2500 V8 5.9L Single cab Long Bed 2WD..
and it got in to gear, engine revs gets torque, but the TRUCK DOESNT MOVE...I think my parking brake wont release...
I tried rocking it back and forth a little and then gunned it a little and got a chirp out of one of the back tires....is the other wheel locked up from the parking brake, does this have something to do with the fact that I washed it right before setting the parking brake? How do I get it to release?
I put it in neutral and tried pushing it & it wont move...
Inspected the tires, wheel and nothing obstructing..
Engine sounds good, and transmission is shifting just fine..
You can feel the truck try to move fwd in drive and trying to move backward in rev... whats going on?
I don't want them to tow it because then they will have to drag it and might break something.
UPDATE: Dodge dealership told me to try hitting my back right brake drum with a hammer and that this happens sometimes if you wash your truck and put on parking brake...WTF?

update:
SO I TAPPED THE BACK RIGHT BRAKE DRUM LIGHTLY WITH A HAMMER, THEN ROCKED IT BACKWARDS FOR FIVE MINTUES AND *POP*....IT RELEASED. THE DODGE DEALER TOLD ME THAT HAPPENS AND NOT TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE AFTER DRIVING THROUGH WATER OR WASHING THE TRUCK.... ALSO ROCKING FORWARD I WOULD GUESS CAUSES THE CALIPERS TO TIGHTEN AND ROCKING BACKWARD LOOSENS THEM, CAUSING IT TO SLACK AND RELEASE....
Dodge dealer,"You washed your truck? That'll do it."

Been there... rear wheel locked up and I too tapped it with a hammer. However I broke my shoe brakes inside. So I had to replace with new shoes. My Lincloln towncar is a 1988 so yes there's still cars out there with shoe brakes.
