Default RPM Change

Got a question regarding RPM changes on my 94 Ram 318 Magnum. As I mentioned I had the engine rebuilt a few weeks ago, and went on a long trip. I have driven this truck over 85000 miles since I have owned it, and know my truck. Anyway back to the question, when running at 60 MPH, in O/D the Tach reads around 1600, in direct at the same speed it reads around the 2000 mark. This has since changed at the 60 MPH in O/D it now reads around the 1800 mark, and in direct same speed around the 2300 mark. Haven't changed the tire size or Gear Ratio, all is as was. Have I got a Torque Converter, gone bad or what?

Default RE: RPM Change

sounds like your torque converter is not locking up... you should be able to see it drop once it goes into OD... 1800 1st, then 1600 (in your case)
