5.2 dies
97 5.2L dodge ram
on occasion the truck will just die when i let off the throatal
i disconected the pcv valve and it stoped dieing so i replaced it with a new pcv valve and it worked fine for a day now its dieing again and works fine without the pcv valve, whats the problem???? vacuum leak somewhere else?

just a guess but if it were me, i would take off the Idle Air Control on the back of the TB and clean it up real good. Make sure it isn't sticking or anything like that...get all of the dirt and deposits off of it.

It's better to pull the whole TB off and clean it that way (still remove the IAC valve). there are air passage ways that can become blocked with gunk, mostly from a blown plenum gasket. while the TB is off, look down onto the bottom of the intake for oil, oil = leakey plenum gasket and internal vacuum leak.
