I just had a squeaking in my front end and it turned out to be something that was handled with a can of white lithium grease. I think it was either the steering shaft or the horizontal rod that extends from the side of the tranny. I sprayed everything I could see and it worked. I'd try that before replacing any parts...unless you see obvious damage.

yeah i soaked everything suspension wise in lithium grease, and when i opened my door today i realized the suspension was fairly loose. the ball joints were starting to crack. now i just need to find a place that wont screw me out of my money, lol. what parts should i get in terms of joints, bushings, shocks? I was planning on replacing the control arm bushings, balljoint and installing a set of moderate Monroe shocks. Down the road i'll probably redo this procedure with upgrade parts, such as better rubber for the joints/bushings and bilstein or rancho shocks.

I've never done the ball joints on my truck, but I have on another car. All it required was the fork and some regular tools. As far as parts, all I needed was the new b joints and some grease.
