My transfer case cracked in half after a u-joint let go on the rear driveshaft. I am getting a new transfer case and driveshaft from the junkyard, hopefully tomorrow so i can fix it this weekend. Is there anything special i need to know about dropping the transfer case? I've looked at it and it looks pretty straight forward.

IIRC it is as straight forward as it looks. You shouldn't have too much trouble.
