Default 1993 3500 help!

hey i have a 1994 dodge ram 3500
i have recently been havin problems with it and i would appreciate some help
every once in a while i will start it and it will go up to about 800 rpm then die then it might do that a couple times
but every once in a whilr it will start up and be fine and run normal
it will also die sometimes at stop signs
does anyone know what is goin on
by the way hi i am jon a new guy

Is it a gas engine or a Diesel? If it is gas, then I would suspect the IAC motor is sticking. take your air cleaner off and look at the throttle plates and the IAC port which is right behind the throttle plates. Some people take the whole throttle body off and clean it out and others will run the engine while spraying carb. cleaner down its throat...

ok what is this iac motor u speak of and it is gas
and in other words i should just take the throttle body off and clean the crap out of it?
