Default Oil Leak

Veh.= 1999 Ram V-10, Auto, 108,000mi, Mostly stock

I've recently developed an oil leak on th drivers side of the engine somewhere in the area of the bottom of the valve cover in the center area. Most noticable first drive of the day, short distance under 10 mi. You can smell and see burning oil coming from the drivers side around the exhaust manifold around the middle of the engine. I don't seem to notice it if I drive longer say 50-75 mi. and shut down.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a simular leak, did you positively identify the source what was the fix.
Thanks for the help.
