Default upper ball joint problem

I have a '94 ram 2500 w/ 138,000 miles and recently (~August) replaced both the upper and lower ball joints on the driver's side. Last week I was driving and heard a loud "clunk" noise and discovered that the upper ball joint had come out of the swing arm. I have pressed the ball joint back into the swing arm now, but am afraid that it will come out again. Is there anything else that should/can be done aside from pressing in the ball joint? Maybe a tack weld or something? Thanks in advance.

when my brother did ball joints on his truck, the upper control arm cracked so the ball joint didnt want to stay in very well. however my dad welded the control arm since he has 30 years of fabricating experience and my brother hasnt had a problem since. if the control arm isnt cracked you could just put a tack weld at the top to hold it in.

The control arm is not cracked, so I'll try the tack weld. Thanks for the advice.
