should i keep the truck or not
well i am still a fairly new dodge owner but have had nothing but problems with it so far. i bought the truck last month. its a 200o 1500 sport 2wd. it is loaded with everything. so far the dealer has had the truck longer than me and its still not fixed. they have replaced the instument cluster the PCM and now they are saying the CTD needs to be replaced. was wondering if this is normal for a dodge or did i just get a lemmon of a truck. the truck only has 34000 miles on it so i am getting a little worried with how much time it has been in the ddealer so far. any thoughts?
could just be the last owner didnt do ANY maintaince work. my wifes lexus had 47k miles on it which we thought was low but within 3 months the engine blew. owner never changed oil on the car or did any other maintaince to it. my dodge has 140k miles and the only thing that is really gone bad is the cat. lol knock on wood the engine seems still strong and healthy.
a friend of mine always told me never get a car that has very low miles for its year because 40k miles on something 10 years old but no maintaince is a **** load worse then 200k miles on something 10 years old with routine maintaince. atleast your know if its gone 200k miles something was done right lol

usually i am the same way. i dont really worry about mileage if the maint records have been kept which this truck had all of them when i bought it. the last owner was army and had been deployed alot so the ruck allways sat in a garage. i am just hopeing that maybe the computers will fix it but now i am not so sure with the way the dealer has been acting. they are wanting to put me into a 2007 but i dont want to spend that kind of money on a work truck cause i rack up some miles over the course of a year. i usually go about 120 miles a day so i need something that is somewhat dependable.
dont let a few gremlins detour you. each manufacturer, whether it beford, chevy, or dodge all have there inherent problems look at it this way: things you wont have to worry about 100k miles from now.

Unless it's under warranty I wouldn't even deal with a dealership. Those people all sold their souls to the evil queen of numbers along time ago. and if they try to sell you a new truck, ask them why the hell you would buy a brand new one when they can't even fix the last piece of **** you bought from them. You have to act like a real ******* to get anything done right in a dealership. And they always try to replace things instead of repair things. If it's not under warranty I'd go find a good no name mechanic and take it to him.

you are so totaly right about that. I had a bad run in with a dealer yesterday (I testdrive cars to get my kicks). I drove an 04 gto, and to get out of it I said what I really wanted was an ls2 6spd goat, and the guy was basicly yelling at me saying the ls1 auto that i drove was better, and that the 3k diffrence would help me mod it to get to the 400 horse. I said, aftermarket mods decrease the value of cars, and he said no they dont, so I said, fine, then take my truck for 10k, its only 6 over book, but its got tons of aftermarket mods! Dealers are turds.

If you have a modified, or even nice vehicle you have to sell it out right. Dealers are good for getting rid of old heeps of **** that would cost money to have towed away. That is the brighter side.
well right now it is under warenty and they are trying to fix it but the service huy let it slip that they are trying to go with used parts to fix the truck. i am just worried with them just throwing parts at it it might just fix it long enough to get past the warenty and then itll be lights out. my salesman said the GM is getting tired of throwing money at the truck and would like to get me into a new 07 at a great deal but i really like the truck i have. am thinking of seeing if maybe they will give up an extended warenty on the truck so i can take it somewhere else if something goes wrong to help set everything right
well everyone it was nice while it lasted but i am no longer going to be a dodge owner. i loved the truck for the first 5 days i had it after that the dealer owned it. gonna get the dealer to buy it back so i can go somewhere else. was informed the truck is beyond repair cause they just cant figure out what is wrong with it. thanks to everyone for being so nice and welcoming me with open arms. good luck to all you guys out there.
